The International Society for Justice Research (ISJR) is a non-profit organization, interdisciplinary in nature. ISJR was founded with three main objectives:

  1. to provide biannual scientific meetings for the exchange of scientific information,
  2. to foster productive discussions of new ideas, research, and theories,
  3. to encourage international and interdisciplinary co-operation.

Its membership includes scientists from different disciplines and fields who work on justice-related issues. The main outlet for research on justice is the journal Social Justice Research. However, the publications of justice researchers are represented in all of the top journals within the social sciences and contracted with a variety of scholarly book publishing companies.

Biannual meetings of the society provide a forum for the scientific exchange of theoretical developments and recent research. The conferences that have taken place to this date have been held at the following places and years: Leiden (Holland 1986 and 1988), Utrecht (Holland 1991), Trier (Germany 1993), Reno (NV, USA 1995), Potsdam (Germany 1997), Denver (CO, USA 1998), Tel Aviv (Israel 2000), Skövde (Sweden 2002), Regina (Canada 2004).

The 11th International Social Justice Conference will take place at Humboldt University, Berlin, August 2-5, 2006.
